Together, Stronger with Open Doors, Burlington Food Bank

 

 

“Open Doors of St. Christopher’s and the Burlington Food Bank were able to utilize the Burlington Foundation pandemic response fund grant of $10,000 to increase the amount of fresh produce delivered to each family by 10 lbs.  This resulted in a boost of over 7,900 lbs of fresh produce to the Food bank. By working collaboratively, we were able to provide more food to families than we would have pre-pandemic, ensuring families had food to last them longer and support healthier options.  Seeing the positive impact this has had on our community and knowing the benefits to ones health overall by consuming good food, the Burlington Foodbank and Open Doors Foodbank have decided to increase their spending budget in this area going forward and continue to offer an abundance of fresh produce.  Many thanks to Burlington Foundation and your donors for recognizing the importance of food security in our community and giving us the opportunity to increase our support to Burlington families during the pandemic.”
