“When COVID-19 took us by surprise in March, Conservation Halton was forced to close our parks and limit community access to greenspace during a time that it was needed most. When we closed, it was with a promise to the community that we would open again as quickly and safely as possible. Funding from Burlington Foundation helped us to integrate new technology to safely re-open the parks using a scheduled and contactless reservation system. Thanks to this new system and funding, we were also able to provide safe and scheduled parks visits to over 500 Halton Healthcare workers as a small token of our appreciation for the work that they do for us all during this uniquely stressful time.”
