Matthew C. Daly Scholarship Fund 

Why this Fund was created 

Following the death of Matthew Christopher Daly on May 19, 2001, a group of friends established a scholarship fund in his name. The fund received donations from Matthew’s family, friends, the businesses community and the local school communities. 

It is the wish of the Daly family to benefit students graduating from Assumption Catholic Secondary School, who will be entering college, university or an apprenticeship program, and who exemplify the values and qualities so admired in Matthew Daly. 

What this Fund is for  

The purpose of the Fund will be to provide financial assistance to a student(s) who is a compassionate, well-rounded individual(s) who displays empathy for others. He/she will demonstrate this through his/her caring nature and a willingness to help others. 

He/she will have a positive work ethic and make the most of his/her talents to contribute to the learning environment individually and in group situations. This person will demonstrate leadership qualities both in the classroom and in interpersonal relationships. The recipient will demonstrate a respect for his/her faith and will be enthusiastic and generous in the building of a Catholic community. He/she will exhibit positive values and as such be a role model for his/her peers.
