Elaine Austin, Literacy South Halton

“Many thanks to Burlington Foundation for your continued support of Literacy South Halton (LSH).  Over the past four years, we have been truly humbled by your generous heart, kindness and efforts to assist us in attaining our goals. Addressing low literacy means attacking the root cause of many other difficulties people face in their lives. Low literacy skills are linked to higher unemployment, low income, health issues and reduced involvement in the community; a reality that has become ever more apparent in our technology-reliant world. Literacy South Halton was waiting for our old printer to “expire” before installing the beautiful new printer the Burlington Foundation generously donated with a seed grant.  Two weeks ago, the new printer was installed and is much bigger, faster and allows all our computers to be networked together. We are truly humbled by your generosity, kindness and efforts to assist us!  Next year in 2020 we will be celebrating our 40th anniversary. Wishing you continued success!”
