As 2025 came to a close, BCF received news that Douglas (Doug) Leggat, the inaugural Chair of the Burlington Community Foundation (BCF), passed away.
Doug was well-known in the Burlington community, both as a business leader through the Leggat Auto Group, and an active community builder. At BCF, we knew him as a thoughtful and generous leader with a deep passion for community and sustainable philanthropy.
It was through his foresight, along with that of other community leaders such as the late Murray Hogarth, founder and chairman emeritus Pioneer Energy, that BCF was established in 1999.
