Burlington Community Foundation has three principle roles: donor services, community leadership and community impact.
Each strengthens our role as a community thought leader and connector, allowing us to facilitate relationships and partnerships that create a lasting effect on community well-being.
We manage charitable gifts from donors whose generosity allows us to create permanent, income-earning funds, whose proceeds are granted to charitable organizations.
Through the generosity of our fundholders and donors, we are able to have a continued impact, year after year, that supports creating thriving and welcoming communities for everyone.
To date, the Foundation has invested $12 million in people, projects, and non-profit organizations that strengthen Burlington and communities throughout Canada.
Burlington Community Foundation provides a community-based alternative to setting up a private foundation.
Through donor advised funds, we support generosity within the local community and across Canada, handling all investment, regulatory compliance and governance, and administration.
There are no fees to set up a fund and they can be established within days. Fundholders can designate areas of giving or allow BCF to direct granting to priority needs in the community.
Donor advised funds are great options for celebration, memorial and legacy giving.

We work across the community to identify vital areas of need and collaborate with charitable organizations, corporations and all levels of government to address solutions.
We do this through annual and specialized granting programs, community dialogue and through leading unique community-based research with our Burlington Vital Signs reports.
Since BCF’s inception, we have invested $12.7 million in people, projects, and non-profit organizations that strengthen Burlington and communities throughout Canada.
BCF provides grants in two ways: through donor advised funds and though our Foundation-directed Community Granting Program.
Each year, we identify vital community needs and provide grants to charitable partners working to address those needs in our local community.
Generous community members can support BCF’s Community Granting Program through a donation to the Burlington Community Fund or by establishing a named fund dedicated to our community granting.
We operate out of a shared co-working space in our community, which helps reduce our carbon footprint. Our team is available to meet virtually or in-person at our office or at a place that is convenient for you. Contact us to arrange an appointment.
