FeedHalton was built on collaboration and partnership to help strengthen food security in Halton Region.
With a large warehouse facility, logistical support, and bulk procurement opportunities, the organization is providing vital infrastructure for local food security partners.
“Access to good, nutritious food is about human dignity,” said Executive Director Robin Bailey. “Our neighbours who experience food insecurity are not able to fully thrive and FeedHalton exists to help change that at the system level.”
Established in 2023, FeedHalton works with a network of community organizations, food banks and meal programs across Halton.
The organization provides centralized online ordering and product delivery to its partner agencies. In 2025, FeedHalton distributed more than one million pounds of food and goods across Halton and to other regional hubs through sector partnerships.
Initially, deliveries were handled by an experienced volunteer driver as is standard for many food organizations. Now, thanks to a $10,000 grant from BCF’s annual Community Granting Program in 2025 and a generous $25,000 anonymous grant from a donor advised fund held at BCF, FeedHalton will be able to hire a part-time driver and warehouse support staff person.
“Adding this role to the organization is a key element to expanding our distribution capacity throughout the region,” said Robin. “The result will be an increased volume of food and goods delivered into Burlington and Halton on a regular, consistent basis. We are grateful to the Foundation and its generous fundholders for supporting our growth and essential services.”
Hiring a driver will allow more than 5,000 pounds of food to be transported in one trip due to the nature of a professional truck driver licence. The addition of a staff driver will create a more consistent delivery schedule through the week.
