A Partnership with a Lasting Impact

Community foundations play many vital roles in their communities and when they come together in partnership, their impact is amplified.

The Burlington Community Foundation has partnered with the Hamilton Community Foundation and the Oakville Community Foundation to provide a social impact investment that is having a sustained and significant effect on children and youth in the Halton Region.

Together, we have provided funding to the Halton Children’s Aid Society for a mortgage to fund a transitional home for young people moving out of care. This funding allows Halton Children’s Aid to provide stable and predictable housing at a crucial time for young people involved with the agency.

“One of the three goals in our new strategic plan is to mobilize our assets to deepen community impact,” says Megan Tregunno, CEO of the Burlington Community Foundation.

“The social impact investment to Halton Children’s Aid Society, in partnership with the Hamilton and Oakville community foundations, is a powerful example of what is possible when we think about innovative ways to support our charitable partners and evolving community needs.”

By pooling resources and identifying a new meaningful way to provide charitable support, this partnership between community foundations has allowed for a significant initiative that will provide a benefit to children and youth for years to come.
