Burlington Community Foundation reaches $6.4 million in endowed assets

At its annual general meeting, the board of the Burlington Community Foundation yesterday presented its annual report and audited statements at the Ron Edwards Family YMCA. Joining members of the board were Burlington’s Mayor Rick Goldring, MP Mike Wallace, along with BCF grant recipients and endowed fund holders.

Along with increasing the organization’s endowed assets from $6.2 million to $6.4 million, the number of fund has increased from 56 to 60. Earned income from BCF endowed funds is directed toward a wide array of charitable causes in our community. In 2011-2012, a total of $289,000 was distributed to more than 35 charitable organizations.
